Publication Ethics
The roles and responsibilities of the authors
- The author must certify that the submitted article is an original work and has not been previously published or is under consideration for publication elsewhere.
- All authors listed in the article must be authors who have contributed to actual writing. In the case of a research article, all authors must participate in the actual research process. The author who submits the article must check the author.
- Authors must report data and research results that arise from actual research. The source of funding supporting the research must be fully specified.
- Authors must cite the work of others accurately and completely. If those works are used in their own works.
- The contents of the article and all elements of the article are the sole responsibility of the author.
- Authors must write articles correctly according to the format specified in the journal template.
- Authors must clearly state conflicts of interest.
The roles and responsibilities of editorial team
- The editorial team must not publish articles that have been previously published elsewhere.
- The editorial team must thoroughly check articles for plagiarism using reliable software to ensure that the published articles in the journal do not contain copied work from others. If plagiarism is detected during the editorial review process, the editorial team must halt the evaluation process and immediately contact the primary author to request clarification to determine whether to 'accept' or 'reject' the publication of the article.
- The editorial team consider the quality of articles. For publication in journals, select articles that have been evaluated by article evaluators with expertise in that area, including the consistency of the article content with the journal's policies.
- The editorial team make decisions based on recommendations from article evaluators and on the validity and clarity of supporting evidence from authors.
- The editorial team must not disclose information about authors and reviewers to anyone not involved in the evaluation process during the evaluation period.
- The editorial team must not have conflicting interests with the authors, article reviewers, and other persons involved.
The role and responsibilities of article reviewers
- Reviewers must evaluate articles in their area of expertise and have reliable evidence. Without personal opinions that are not supported by data as criteria for evaluating the article.
- Reviewers must consider the quality of articles based on importance, freshness, and clarity of content, including the quality of the analysis and the intensity of the work.
- Reviewers must identify important research results that are consistent with the article being evaluated. However, the author does not include it in the evaluation of the article to be useful in revising and improving the quality of the article.
- Reviewers have a role in checking for duplication of work by authors. However, duplication is found, and the discovered information must be reported to the journal editor.
- Reviewers are required to maintain confidentiality and not disclose any part or the entirety of the submitted articles for evaluation to individuals not involved in the review process during the evaluation period.
- Reviewers must not have conflicts of interest with the author, such as knowing each other personally. Being a project participant or collaborator may cause a lack of freedom in considering the article. By notifying the editor and requesting that she reject the evaluation.
Research ethics in humans and animals
The research article submitted for publication must comply with ethical standards, especially when it involves human or animal subjects. For studies related to human research, the author must obtain approval from the Institutional Review Board or Ethics Committee of an institution accredited by the National Research Council of Thailand. In the case of experiments involving animals, the study should be conducted under the guidelines and approval of the Animal Ethics Committee. Additionally, the study must align with the provisions of the Animal for Scientific Purposes Act of 2015.
