Effect of Cooperative Learning Activity Management on Classification of Land Usage from Satellite Image in the Course of Basic Remote Sensing Survey

Abstract

          This study aimed to 1) develop learning activities for the course of basic remote sensing survey for environmental science students with an appropriate efficiency; 2) compare learning achievement of the student to the required criterion; 3) study satisfaction of the student of the students with cooperative learning activities; and 4) study cooperative learning skills. The sample consisted of 33 third year students majoring in environmental science, the Faculty of Science and Technology, Rajabhat MahaSarakham University, in the first master in the academic year 2013. Research instruments included one lesson and a learning achievement test with 20 items and a satisfaction questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation and the paired t-test

          The research findings found that the developed lesson plan on basic remote sensing survey had an efficiency of 85.61/80.30 which met the regarded criterion. The students showed gains in learning achievement from before learning via the developed lesson plan at the .05 level of significance. Also, they indicated satisfactions with learning via the developed lesson plan in overall at the more level; and had cooperative learning skills at a more level.
