Association Measure: of Crude Oil Price (WTI Crude) in The Nymex Market between Stock Price Energy Sector and Oil Service Station Business in the Index of Stock Exchange of Thailand by Data Mining Technique

Abstract

This paper studied the association measure of crude oil price (WTI Crude) in the Nymex  market between stock price  energy sector and oil service station business in  the Index of Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET). There were five companies, namely: PTT: Public Company Limited, ESSO: (Thailand) Public Co Ltd , BCP: The Bangchak Petroleum Public Company Limited , PTG:  Energy Public Company Limited and Susco: Public Company Limited . The study aimed to find a relationship between crude oil and stock price  energy sector. It covers period between June 7, 2016 and Jan January 5, 2017 and using data provided by website investing and SET Index. The study utilized FP-Growth Algorithm to ascertain strong rules discovered in databases. The findings showed that there were thirty-one association rules. The study also camped up with the conclusion that there was a causality relationship from crude oil to stock price PTG. The empirical results showed that when crude oil with gained price, so did to  stock price PTG with the maximum confidence at 0.672 , Support at 0.35  and Lift at 1.05.
