The development of learning activity based on Davies’s instructional model through social media for supporting skill of practicing document software package for the Vocational Certificate students

Abstract

          The purpose of this research were 1) to develop the learning activity based on Davies’s instructional model through social media for supporting skill of practicing document software package for the Vocational Certificate students. 2) to compare the skill between students that learn through the learning activity based on Davies’s instructional model through social media and students of normal program. 3) to study about the satisfaction of students in control group that has improved. The sample in this research was first year Vocational Certificate students in the major of Information technology. There were 2 separated group which are studying at Chaiyaphum Vocational College in the 1^st semester, academic year 2017. The subjects were randomly selected by cluster sampling process by divided in to 2 groups. 1) Students that learn through the learning activity based on Davies’s instructional model through social media for  skill of practicing document software package for the Vocational Certificate students for 20 people and 2) The normal learning program for 20 people by using the normal instructional model. The instruments were 1) Lesson plan, 2) practice skill  3) achievement test of satisfaction assessment form. The statistical procedures used for data analysis were arithmetic mean, percentage, standard deviation and t-test.

            The result of research were as follows : 1) Overall, the level of suitability of the lesson plan has an excellent level of suitability. When consider on each item, the most suitable lesson plan was the 3rd lesson plan: Usability of table. The inferior was the 2nd lesson plan: Document decoration. While the least mean was on the 1st lesson plan: Document creation.                    2) Students in a group of learning activity based on Davies’s instructional model through social media had made a mean learning achievement score of 25.75. While, students who were taught by the normal program had made a mean learning achievement score of 18.55. After comparing a mean learning achievement score from Davies’s instructional model through social media, the mean learning achievement score from Davies’s instructional model was higher than the normal program statistical significantly in the level of .05 3) Overall, the student’s satisfaction who were taught by Davies’s instructional model through social media had made a mean satisfaction regarding score which was an excellent level.
