Development of the application model of Google applications to support educational guidance for higher education institutions

Abstract

This study aimed at 1) synthesizing the usage of Google application for educational purpose in higher education context 2) investigating the experts’ opinion on the appropriateness of the usage of Google application in higher education context. Nine experts were the subjects of the study. Questionnaire was used to elicit their opinion about the topic. Descriptive statistics including mean and S.D were used to analyze the data.

       The results revealed that 1) the usage of Google application for educational purpose in higher education context consisted of four main parts rationale, concept, educational support system, technology and indicator to evaluate success. 2) The opinion forms the experts showed that 2.1) the appropriateness of the usage of Google application in higher education context was at high level (mean=4.80, S.D.=0.42). Pattern ranked the highest level of appropriateness (mean=4.85, S.D.=0.44). Policy and rational also ranked the highest level of appropriateness (mean=4.83,S.D.=0.25). Appropriateness regarding the concept was rated at the highest level (mean=4.89,S.D.=0.33).Appropriateness regarding the educational support system was rated at the highest level (mean=4.78,S.D.=0.46).  Appropriateness regarding the success was rated at the highest level (mean=4.78,S.D.=0.44).  Appropriateness regarding the technology was rated at the highest level (mean=4.75,S.D.=0.45).  Appropriateness regarding the application of information technology was rated at the highest level (mean=4.75,S.D.=0.49).  When considering each aspect, PDCA process was rated at the highest level (mean=4.63,S.D.=0.66).  Appropriateness of stakeholder was rated at the highest level (mean=4.81,S.D.=0.43).  The application of information technology was rated at the highest level (mean=4.75,S.D.=0.49).
