DEVELOPING OF VIRTUAL TOURISM INNOVATIONS USING METAVERSE TECHNOLOGY A CASE STUDY OF LUE LAI KHAM MUSEUM Research Article

Abstract
The purposes of the research were to develop a virtual tourism innovation using metaverse technology for the Lue Lai Kham Museum in Chiang Khong District, Chiang Rai Province and to evaluate the effectiveness of the innovation by nine experts in information technology, tourism, and marketing, selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included an innovation effectiveness evaluation form. Data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation. The research found that the metaverse-based virtual tourism innovation effectively presented museum information, including the history of the Tai Lue people, their way of life, and knowledge of various Tai Lue weaving patterns. It also enhanced the visiting experience by incorporating music that reflects the identity of the Tai Lue. Additionally, the innovation connected to an online system for ordering Lue Lai Kam community products and was accessible via the Spatial.io platform. the innovation was found to be highly effective ( =4.49, S.D.=0.59). In particular, the aspect of enhancing the image of community-based tourism and adding value to tourism in Chiang Rai Province received the highest average score ( =5.00, S.D.=0.00).
